20 years ago when we re-did our kitchen we were forced to keep a chimney buried in the wall, in the center of the kitchen. Several years ago we put a new roof on, removing the top part of the chimney, but leaving the lower part. Finally, we were ready to remove the chimney, and replace the countertops with granite. As do it ourselves we thought an easy project. We wanted to keep the natural maple cabinets and match new ones in the 60+ inches of space we created. We started with two well-known kitchen centers. One would not consider working with us, project was too small for him, and the 2nd wanted $21-24,000 just to install the cabinets and granite, no demolition included. On our way home we noticed Kitchen Direct on Mink Street in Seekonk, MA. What a lucky stop for us!
Peter Curti, owner was an amazing help to us! Our business to him was “small potato’s” but you would not know that by the level of customer service we received. First, he spent time understanding out plan, recommended a cabinet combination we loved. He also spent a lot of time working with us to find doors and drawers that would match the best with the older cabinets we had. We began the demolition and found that our original plans would not work because the chimney hid the fact that the supporting beam did not allow us to remove the wall. I called Peter, put a hold on the cabinets and then he worked with us to revamp the plans to fit the new space, (now 4-5 inches smaller). Peter also helped us to find the perfect under-mount sink that would replace the very large sink we had, and fit well with the old cabinet, also ordering a grill for it. When I asked for a recommendation for a faucet, he recommended the one I had already zeroed in on, including a link to a website to get the best price, he even offered to order it for me. Peter let us know exactly when our cabinets would be delivered. When the delivery was later than expect and he knew we had an installer coming the next morning Peter personally brought them to our house, carrying them himself!When it came to choosing the granite he showed us several options, none of which wowed us. He then pulled out this one piece that he said we might like, and boy did we. But we balked at the price. Peter sent us to another granite supplier to see if we could find something else. But we were sold on the original piece. We settled on that granite, opted to eliminate the backsplash, (not for price, but per our new design with bead-board), and the price worked out great.
So, I guess my story is, remodeling is tough, even small ones, but having a company like Kitchen Direct and Peter Curti walking us through each step sure made it worth the effort. I would have to say I can’t ever remember receiving better customer service, and all within our budget! Our kitchen surpasses our wildest dreams!

He was professional, got quotes and product options to me in a timely manner, and kept me informed regarding timelines and scheduling of templates and installation.
